Design a round box from a bottom plate, a top ring and vertical staves: the staves form a chord polygon around the inner circle and lock into the slot rings of plate and ring with tabs. Diameter, height, stave count, gap, ring width and plate overhang are freely adjustable — check everything in 2D and 3D and export the cut files.

Dimensions

Dimensions = outer diameter of the plates and total box height

Diameter of the bottom plate and top ring

Total height incl. bottom plate and ring

Staves

Number of vertical wall staves (6–36)

Visible gap between neighboring staves (0 = flush)

Stave width: 39.8mm — one centered tab per stave

Plate & ring

Rim of the bottom plate and ring outside the staves

Radial width of the top ring — must accommodate the slot ring

Inner diameter: 156mm

Material

Plywood 3–6 mm is ideal for round boxes

Cut width of your tool — contours are offset outward by kerf/2

Spacing between parts in the cut layout

Round shape from flat parts

Every part is cut flat: plate and ring with slot rings plus identical staves with tabs — the round shape emerges during assembly, no bending required.

Fully parametric

Diameter, height, stave count and gap, ring width and plate overhang are freely adjustable; stave width and tabs are calculated automatically — kerf compensation included.

2D, 3D & export

2D cut layout with dimensions, 3D preview of the assembled box, and SVG, DXF or PDF export for CNC routers and laser cutters.
